Make Your Own Hair Perfume Empty
PostSubject: Make Your Own Hair Perfume   Make Your Own Hair Perfume EmptySat Jul 18, 2009 1:50 pm

Want to turn a few more heads? Well, you could do that just with a whiff of air. It is the wonderful locks which fall over your shoulder that need some care. It barely takes a few minutes to prepare these homemade hair perfume recipes so don’t haste in trying them out as soon as you can.

One conventional method is to make a thick paste of the following powders, and essential oils. Then the mixture is to be heated over a water bath, made into little cones and dried. Finally, it is the dried cone that is to be lit and smoked through damp hair.

It is pleasant to perfume the hair after washing it when the hair is half dry. The following ingredients are required to make this fragrant perfume.

6 tablespoons powdered charcoal
5 tablespoons powders myrrh
1 tablespoon powdered benzoin
1 tablespoon potassium nitrate
2-3 drops oil of bergamot
2-3 drops of sandalwood
mucilage of tragacanth
Mix the powders together and sieve, and then add the oils. Add the potassium nitrate, and then sufficient mucilage of tragacanth to make a stiff paste.

Heat the mixture over a water bath and then make into little cones and dry. Just light one of the cones and let the smoke go into the damp hair.
The smell is highly aromatic and exotic.

MORE fragrant hair recipes

Saffron Conditioner

* Boil saffron strands in water
* Cool it and add lime and one tbsp of honey to it
* Rub the mixture to penetrate through your scalp
* Leave it for 15minutes
* Rinse thoroughly with water

Avocado Conditioner

* Heat 4tsp of avocado and with 2tsp of coconut oil
* Allow to cool then stir by adding 3tsp of honey and 1tsp of cider vinegar
* Rub the mixture through the scalp after shampooing
* Keep it on for 15minutes
* Rinse thoroughly with water

Scented Gels do a similar job of adding freshness and style to the hair. The least required is:

* To boil 2 tablespoons of flax seed
* After having cooled for about half an hour, add 2 drops of scented oil
* Apply as you would apply any other gel

Ways to keep healthy scented hair:

* Wash your hair regularly to keep it clean
* Massage with gentle natural oils
* Avoid scratching the scalp which would lead to scaling
* Try leaving your hair open and fresh
* Use effective natural conditioners to provide flavor and bounce

Spread the aura and let everyone wonder the secret of having it!!

some oils you might like to try:

For freshness: Oils from the skins of a variety of citrus fruits provide the perfumes fruity, fresh note. Lemon, grapefruit, bergamot and bitter orange oils are used as light scent oils. They give a refreshing top note and also provide the perfume with its delicate, invigorating scent.

For warmth and spice: The addition of lemongrass, cypress, neroli and verbena oils gives the perfume a mild spicy, slightly woodsy scent.

For fullness and harmony: Benzoin and cedarwood oils give the perfume a lasting fullness. They bind the mixture of essential oils together and harmonize well with the fresh citrus oils.

Jojoba oil for a perfume base: This medium weight, golden oil is a liquid plant wax. Produced from cold-pressed jojoba seeds, it makes an excellent carrier for natural perfumes since it has a very long shelf life, is easily absorbed by the skin and is non-greasy.

Citrus oil for refreshment: Gently uplifting and soothing citrus oils, such as neroli and bergamot, provide a fruity, floral freshness to a perfume's fragrance.

Jasmine oil for intense richness: Used to make fine perfumes, jasmine flowers are picked before dawn to prevent any of the soft and sensuous oil from evaporating.

Geranium oil for harmony and balance: This delicate, rosy fragrance is very effective in treating stress, fatigue and anxiety, and it is an inexpensive alternative to genuine rose oil.

Ylang-ylang oil for relaxation: Possibly the most erotic aroma on earth, this sweet, tropical scent is a reported aphrodisiac. It calms the senses and relaxes the muscles.

Patchouli oil for prolonging a fragrance: This warm, earthy fragrance acts as a fixative, slowing evaporation and prolonging the scent.
